As a twelve year old kid who weighed more than 200 pounds, I had a lot to be depressed about; I was pretty unhappy and my life was dreary. My whole outlook to life was covered in a cloud of depressive desolation and there seemed to be no way out. My confidence was low and I was a total psychological wreck. Losing weight and looking good or normal was a dream.

There was a range of diets ranging from the Atkins diet to the  South Beach diet and then on to the Low fat diet and  Low carb diet, Sugar busters and a whole lot more and I grew tired and more depressed  trying all kinds of diets but to no avail. The doctors said that none of these worked with me as I was only a twelve year old kid and my body did not react positively to diets.

I was adamant that my body needed some respite from its heaviness and was constantly trying out any new diet plan that was revealed unto me. Up till now, nothing worked.

My History teacher chanced upon a diet  one day and guided me to follow a specified  3-day diet plan distributed by the  American Heart Association which promises a loss of 10 pounds in 3 days. My teacher told me that this was a diet developed for heart patients who were required to shed actual body fat, and not just remove the water retained in the body, before going in for surgery.

This diet was interesting! It was rightly labeled as  the 3 Days Diet. The name may not be enough to electrify you into believing, but that should not inhibit your thinking! By following this diet you will lose 10 pounds of fat from the body  in a span of three days only. How does this happen? Well, there are various chemical reactions which get triggered off when you follow this routine which are caused by the specific types of food you are consuming. When  participating in this kind of diet, you can tell from the first day itself that the diet really works.

In just a matter of 4 months, I was 90 pounds lighter due to this diet. The directions, grocery list and recipes are given below. Follow the plan to the core and you can quickly lose 10 pounds of fat!

Day 1:

BREAKFAST:

Tea or black coffee

One whole Grape fruit

One piece of toast

Two tablespoons of peanut butter

LUNCH:

One cup of Tuna

One piece of toast

DINNER:

One cup of green string beans

One cup of beetroot

Two slices of lean meat (about 3 oz.) – I had two hot dogs.

One small sized apple

One cup of vanilla ice cream

Day 2:

BREAKFAST:

One egg

One Banana

One piece of toast

Tea or black coffee

LUNCH:

One cup cottage cheese or tuna

5 salted crackers

DINNER:

Carrots – 1 full cup

Broccoli – half a cup

A couple of hot dogs

In addition, you may have some ice cream.

Day 3:

BREAKFAST:

4 to 5 saltine crakers, plus a couple of slices of cheddar cheese. Have some apples and bananas and drink some green tea.

LUNCH: 1 hard boiled egg with 2 toasts

DINNER: Have some tuna, beet, cauliflower, cantaloupe, and some vanilla ice cream. As far as quantities are concerned, please do not consume any more than a cup.

Stick to it an you will be thrilled of the results.
